Munchly is a meal planning and pantry management application. Your privacy matters. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under applicable data protection laws, including the GDPR.

- Other content you voluntarily enter into the app
AI-related data
- User inputs sent to the AI service to generate meal plans or suggestions
- AI-generated outputs returned to you
Technical data
- IP address (processed transiently by backend infrastructure)
- Server logs necessary for security, debugging, and reliability
3. How we use your data
Your data is used to:
- Create and manage your account
- Generate personalized meal plans and suggestions
- Operate and improve app functionality
- Ensure security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues
4. AI processing (important disclosure)
Munchly uses an external AI service provider (OpenAI) to generate meal plans and suggestions.
- User-provided inputs may be sent to OpenAI for processing
- Data is used only to generate responses
- Your personal data is not used to train AI models
- AI responses are generated automatically and may not always be accurate
5. Data sharing
We share data only when necessary:
- AI provider: OpenAI (for AI-generated features)
- Hosting & infrastructure: Cloud service providers used to run the backend (e.g. Azure)
We do not sell your data.
6. Analytics
Munchly does not currently use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
Basic server-side logs may be collected strictly for operational and security purposes.
7. Data retention
- Your data is stored as long as your account is active
- You may request account deletion at any time
- After deletion, your personal data will be permanently removed unless retention is required by law
8. Your rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the EU, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Request correction or deletion
- Restrict or object to processing
- Request data portability

Munchly is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
